relaunched

The City Stories Project has a whole new look and a buncha new features. Stay tuned for exciting things.

This is the third site I've launched using Greymatter, and I've gotta say, the more I use it, the more of a fan I become. The fact that you can upload separate files and combine them with the existing templates is just amazing. Bravo, Noah.

The other fun thing about the new CS site is that I've always been a fan of the London Underground font, but I'd never found the right excuse to use it. Now I have!

» Very nicely done Derek. The LU font has very nice properties. Thanks for the sharing the source.

» Isn't it great? I've always loved the signage in Europe. It's so much cooler than the boring American shite. (Though no one can beat old American newspapers for pure typographic awesomeness.)

Other trivia: the blurry photo in the background of this page was taken in the London Underground of trains whizzing past. :-)

» Derek -

I won't be able to concentrate the rest of the day at work - I'm dying to get home and check it out.

Love the new design.

And I always wanted to know where the image of the train was taken! Wonder what you'd think of our new trains that were put into service this year to replace the old ones...must take some photos...

Gaming the system: How moderation tools can backfire
Sometimes all the widgets backfire, encouraging the very behavior they're designed to avert. The rules have a dangerous side-effect: they create a game.

  the slow glimmering descent
I've been watching fireworks there for years, but last night was different. And not just because it was clear.
