my caliPlease join yours truly and a handful of other contributors to My California tomorrow, Thursday, March 3, for an evening of California storytelling at the Mechanics' Institute in San Francisco. It's gonna be fun! Tell the folks at the door that you're an "author's guest" to get in free.

UPDATE: The event was a wonderful success! Here's a photo of me reading my story, courtesy of my beautiful and talented wife.

My California: Journeys by Great Writers

Join West Coast Live Producer Kathi Kamen Goldmark, SF Chronicle Book Critic David Kipen, Great Central Valley writer Gerald Haslam, former SF Poet Laureate devorah major and storyteller/performer Derek Powazek for an evening of travel stories and adventures.

This wonderful, rich anthology of travel writing by well known California authors and journalists is edited by Donna Wares and includes an introduction by Pico Iyer. Writers donated their work for this publication and sales of the book directly benefit the California  Arts Council and writing programs for children statewide.

When: Thursday, March 3, 6:00 pm (Reception at 5:45 pm)
